Custom Infrared Optics CO2 Laser Focus GaAs Lens
GaAs has good transmittance in the 2um-14um spectral range. GaAs is used for optical windows, lenses, mirrors, prisms and optical blanks, plates, disks, sheets, slabs particularly for infrared applications. GaAs has slightly higher absorption rates but is harder than ZnSe so it’s better for use in dirty environments (and its thermal conductivity keeps crud deposits from heating/burning the lens).
-Advantages: Good chemical stability, strong hardness, strong resistance to harsh environments
-Application: Thermal infrared imaging system, high-power CO2 laser optical system, and FLIR system.
