ZnSe focus mirrors are often used as CO2 laser focal lenses as they transmit at 10.6µm, with minimal absorption. They have a high resistance to thermal shock and are chemically inert. They are also highly durable and can withstand high power densities. ZnSe is a material commonly used in CO2 lasers, but it is indeed fragile and can break easily. When disassembling it, take care not to use too much force or collide with other objects. In addition, the surface of ZnSe is easily affected by pollution, moisture, fingerprints and scratches.
